Dr. Yudkowsky is founder and Chair of the Board of Directors of Midwest Speech Technology Association. With over 160 members, the MSTA is the largest speech technology society in the United States.
The Midwest Speech Technology Association is a professional association for members of the speech technology community: engineers, marketing and sales professionals, end users, consultants, and academics. MSTA members meet about every two months; to date all meetings have been held in the Chicago area.
The MSTA promotes opportunities for networking; promotes deployment and development of speech technologies in the Midwest; and promotes an inclusive membership.

AVIOS — Applied Voice Input Output Society
Dr. Yudkowsky serves on the Board of Directors of AVIOS.
AVIOS is a national organization of speech technology professionals; the organization seeks to improve speech technology. Dr. Yudkowsky's focus on the Board is to define and implement a strategy to create local affiliates of AVIOS across the United States.
